Our Aerial Yoga Teacher Training at OMNI is an immersive experience designed to help you explore movement, creativity, and strength through the support of the aerial hammock.
Who this is for
• Certified yoga teachers who want to add aerial yoga to their teaching toolkit
• Fitness and movement instructors interested in creative, low-impact strength training
• Dedicated students who want to deepen their personal practice in a supportive environment
No prior aerial experience is required, but a consistent yoga or movement practice is recommended.
What we’ll learn
This training is designed to give you both the technical skills and creative confidence to teach aerial yoga safely and effectively.
You’ll learn:
• Aerial hammock setup and rig an aerial hammock apparatus
• Foundational aerial yoga poses, progressions, and modifications
• How to safely guide students through effective cues
• Alignment principles unique to aerial yoga
• Strength-building and mobility-focused sequencing
• How to create balanced aerial yoga classes that are playful and accessible
• Safety and spotting techniques
Throughout the training, you’ll have opportunities to practice teaching, receive feedback, and develop your voice as an aerial instructor.
40 HOURS of continuing education credits can be offered for registered yoga teachers

Facilitators
Angela Marie Smith is an accomplished dancer, aerialist, and educator with over 25 years of professional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance and a Master of Arts in Teaching in Education.
Throughout her career, Angela has showcased her versatility by performing with ballet, modern, and jazz dance companies. Her talent has also graced commercial and review shows, taking her on tours across the United States.
As an aerialist, Angela has honed her skills for nearly two decades, not only perfecting her craft but also sharing her expertise through teaching. Her unique blend of extensive performance experience and educational background makes her a valuable asset in nurturing the next generation of performers and teachers.
Angela’s classes draw from her diverse background in dance, yoga, Pilates, and gymnastics.
Her goal is to empower new teachers with a strong foundation in aerial safety while encouraging them to infuse their own unique styles and experiences into their classes. She looks forward to training future aerial instructors, helping to expand our community's involvement in this exciting discipline while encouraging a spectrum of teaching styles.
